Clive House

Brief

A new home for the Beckett family in Clive, on the flat alluvial ground of the Heretaunga Plains. The site is typical of the area — relatively level, but with a soil profile that needs careful foundation thought given Hawke’s Bay’s seismic context and the high water table.

Approach

EQSE provided the full structural design — foundation system, framing and bracing — coordinating with the architect and the builder.

Outcome

Completed in March 2025. The home sits comfortably on its site with a foundation system sized for Hawke’s Bay seismic loads and the Clive ground profile.
